Pasadena Mayor Johnny Isbell presents Jim Atkins a Proclaimation declaring July 7, 1999 as "Buffaloe, Texas Day" in honor of the first townsite established in the Pasadena area. Instantly Jim was granted the title, Mayor of Buffaloe! ____ of the Pasadena Historical Society and Clyde & Marguerite Pomeroy and daugther Mary Petty look on.

Clyde Pomeroy, center, donated the family business's water well drilling rig which he built in the early 1950s to help Pomeroy Drilling Company dig over 2,000 waterwells in the area. Mayor Johnny Isbell and representatives of the Pasadena Historical Society, San Jacinto Day Foundation and members of the Pomeroy family witness the event along with Cowboy Ranch proprietor, Jim Atkins. When the Cowboy Ranch closed the drilling rig was moved to the Pasadena Heritage Park.
